The blue-eyed beauty was asked about her comeback film, but that’s not what ticked off the usually graceful former Miss World
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s angry face is a rare sight. The actor is best known for two things, besides her good looks: being gallingly diplomatic and giggling without reason. While Ash has managed to keep her Miss Goody Two Shoes image intact, she recently lost her cool at an event in Mumbai. Aishwarya was happy interacting with the media; she was her giggly self when she was asked about her comeback. As always, the Bachchan bahu first flaunted her smile and then said that she is in talks with her Guzaarish director, but things are yet to materialise. In fact, the Devdas actor was all smiles until she was quizzed about why senior actresses were being offered item numbers and not full-fledged meaty roles in films. No one could miss the changing face of Ash – offended at being referred to as a ‘senior actor’, perhaps? or was it the ‘special song’ that upset her? The lady’s curt response: “These are questions that should be asked to rest of the business. These are not the questions that should be directed at an actor.”
Did Ash get all hot and bothered ‘coz ‘item number’ was mentioned? Wethinks not! After all, Mrs Bachchan did a raunchy item number in Shakti along with Shahrukh Khan, remember? And how can we forget Kajra re from Bunty Aur Babli, where the beauty grooved with her to-be hubbyAbhishek Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan. Looks like the word ‘senior’ didn’t go down well with the Pink Panther baddie. So we guess it must have been that word, but then you don’t refer to an actor as a newbie when they have spent more than a decade in the industry, right?
What’s funny is that while most B-town ladies hate the word ‘comeback’, Ash is cool with it, though she does say that she never went anywhere to come back. But call her a senior actor and she sees red! Well, the way things are shaping up professionally, wethinks Ash should be happy that she is still being considered an actor and not a yesteryear beauty or model. After all, going by her recent appearances, she has been in the news for only her endorsement offers or then her turning interior decorator for her own dream home, no? Our suggestion to Jr Ms Bachchan (we’re sure Ash will love us for referring to her as ‘junior’): Take a cue from your Devdas co-star and senior actor Madhuri Dixit Nene. That lovely lady got young heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor dancing to her tunes – with a whole lot of fans too – and she has her plate full with work, from films to TV shows and even endorsement deals. What say, peeps? And hey, Ash, kya bolti tu?
